OTTAWA ON: Canada will send a mix of experience and youth to the 2009 Panamerican Championships in Ambato, Ecuador October 17 – 24, 2009.

David Phillips of Montréal, QC, ranked 70th on the current PSA rankings and fresh off his first Men's World Team Championships will lead the men’s team that will also include Mike Reid (PSA ranking of 123) of Montréal, QC and Andrew Schnell (PSA ranking of 343) of Calgary, AB. It will be the first international senior event for both Reid and Schnell. Schnell, still a junior will use this opportunity to experience not only international senior level squash, but also to experience squash in Ecuador, which could prove important as the 2010 Junior Men’s World Championships will take place in Ecuador in July 2010. Cornett, the 2008 Panamerican Junior Championships Gold medalist looks to continue her junior success at the senior level. The women`s team will be coached by women`s national senior coach Shauna Flath of Vancouver, BC.
